A few days after
I posted the video about the 360° labial pipes,
Aaron
commented on Twitter 'That is great for tuning!' and ... that is
wrong.
And it is wrong in a familiar way: apparently many hobbyist instrument
makers haven't heard of voicing organ pipes, so I decided to make a
video about it.
In the video I mentioned aspects of voicing
from the German Wikipedia article about organ pipes, which in some regards is more thorough than the English one. If you
speak German, the Wikipedia article will be very informative for you,
English speakers will have to watch me talk and point to things.
Since I'm referring to 'having many files, for instance files with
nicks' in the video,
here is what I'm talking about.
In the second part of the video, I introduced two new tuning devices, one for 'open' and one for stopped pipes. I'm happy with them because they are the most reliable 3d printed tuning devices I made so far.
